"In our own backyards."
Our President:"Nobody has ever escaped from one of our supermax prisons, which hold hundreds of convicted terrorists."
Yes. THIS. This is what needed to be said. The Harry Reids of the Senate, the histrionic propagators of exaggeration and misinformation, need to shut up and listen. Imprisoning terrorists on US soil is not tantamount to releasing them into our neighborhoods. Nobody is going to meet an Al-Qaeda operative on his way to the morning bus. They're not going to be, in the words of Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe, "turned loose."
These are crazy fucking murderous sociopaths, but they're not any more crazy, murderous, and sociopathic than many of the serial killers and terrorists we've already got under lock, key, concrete wall, barbed wire fence and gunpoint. And they're not going anywhere, either. The 90 US Senators who voted against the transfer of Guantanamo detainees to US prisons suggest to their constituents that such a situation would endanger Americans. This is ridiculous, and it's shamefully irresponsible.
